This moot revolves around determining questions of contract - flowing from a transaction relating to the sale or purchase of goods under the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and other uniform international commercial law -- in the context of an arbitration of a dispute under specified Arbitration Rules. See the Vis website for more info.
Following prior emails and the informational session held on 2nd October, The City Law School will be entering a selected team of 5 students to participate in this competition.
To apply, on 12th October a relevant legal question will be released via email, for which responses will be due by midday on 26th October. Further information on this can be found in the slides which have been sent out to your email and after the legal question is released, responses should be emailed to Edward Bates (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Due to exam timetable clashes, the selection of the team is restricted to LLB, LLM, GELLB and GDL students.
However, if you are a BPTC student and would still like to be involved in assisting the team with research, writing the memorandums and general preparation, please email Edward by 26th October to indicate your interest and briefly detail your experience in mooting/arbitration/relevant commercial law.
